The Mississippi Leadership Camp is an annual camp aimed at high school and middle school students and student leaders to teach them to develop FCA on their campus and in their community. This summer, students from Mississippi, Louisiana and Alabama came together to compete, learn about FCA, and worship our Savior. Our chaplain for the week was Atlanta FCA staff Danny Buggs, head of FCA Inner-City ministry.
Our very own Southern Miss Asst. Softball Coach, Gessica Hufnagle, attended Camp this summer. She led a Buzz Group called "Broken Heart, Broken Home", and had the opportunity to minister to the students about how to cope in a family where the parents have divorced. She also coached the softball clinic on Super Saturday, the day during camp when college coaches from surrounding areas teach the students skills in whichever sport they choose. We were blessed to have her at camp this year!
Every year, lives are impacted and changed because of this camp. Read what the following campers had to say:
"I am no longer ashamed to praise God." --Johntre from Meridian
"I had my first quiet time ever...and loved it!" --Ron from Tupelo
"The leaders actually talked about things that I struggle with and showed me how to get through it." --Luke from Bay St. Louis
"I surrendered my life to ministry this week. I have been so encouraged and fulfilled." --Chassy from Corinth
Please join us in praying for the campers who made decisions for Christ this year. Pray that they will stay the course and go on to create even more disciples! |
