Jasmine was invited to speak at this year's Girls Black Mountain Camp, a multi-sport camp for middle and high school athletes. She spoke about God's love for us and how that love, not fear, should motivate us to righteousness. At this camp, 56 girls gave their lives to Christ and 70 made renewed committments in their walks with Him! The camp grew from 132 last summer to 205 this summer. When you step into this camp, you know it is a place where the Holy Spirit is working through all the staff. The scenery is amazing--a perfect place to experience the power of God not only through the camp activities, but also through the surroundings. One camper, Tiffany Cox, had this to say about Black Mountain:
This week has been an eye opener for me. The reasons are because before this week I was a Christian and had been saved, but I was letting my temptations get to me again. Now I can go back to my home knowing God is with me through my struggles. Even if I’m the only one that is going to try to live my life for Christ when I get back to school, I’m hoping I can set an example for younger girls and everyone not to be ashamed of living your life for Christ and acting like the true Christian I can be. I’ve learned that you don’t need people to make you feel beautiful or smart or cool because in God’s eyes I know I am. This week at camp has transformed me for the better and I feel cleansed because of it.
